Over 300 submissions received

Thanks to a surge in support driven by the launch of our web form, social media promotion and word of mouth we are thrilled to announce that our grassroots campaign has received over 300 web form submissions calling for an end to lakeshore camping at Motutere. This milestone highlights the strength of the hapū, iwi and community commitment to restoring public access to Motutere Bay and protecting this significant whenua.

The momentum gained over the last week has been incredible, and we’re grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their views with Taupō District Council. These submission play a vital role in making sure our voices are heard, and that Motutere Bay is preserved and accessible to future generations.

Help us reach our goal

Our goal is to secure even more submissions in support of our cause before the Council’s submission deadline (4 November 2024). If you haven’t already, please join the movement by making a submission. Visit our submission page to complete the form.
